The Leadership Improvement Plan (LIP) utilized the leading workouts stocktaking (LPI) survey to determine the coachs individual drawing cards vogue. Myself, Devin (assistant coach), Karen (head coach), and 4 student-athletes completed the survey. The polled parties loosely agreed that the modeling and channelise were where my greatest strengths as a coach. For the LIP I go out focus on regions needing improvement: exalt and encouraging. The averaged loads for these areas were 22 and 21, respectively. LPI Results Based on the Managerial Grid leading style analysis I fall into the team leader quadroon, with mostly equal importance placed on toil and people. This translates to the LPIs identified strengths of modeling and enabling, where values are present and agreed-upon, advance of cooperative relationships, and mutual trust. As checkn in encipher 1 the results from myself and the student-athletes on leadership scale for sports (LSS) questionnaire were simi lar; homework and commission where identified as a strength (similar to the LPI area of modeling) and the terminal rated area identified was overbearing behavior.
I cerebrate autocratic behavior was rated lower because as a beginner coach, practice is structured such that it does not allow a band of athlete-driven input. I dont necessarily see this order as a negative, and think the score would be dissimilar if I were working with more experienced athletes (as I would search out their input more). Figure 1.
